Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide consisting of seven amino acids — Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro. It is a synthetic analogue of the adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) fragment ACTH(4-7), with additional proline residues added to enhance metabolic stability. Originally developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Semax has been the subject of extensive published scientific research and is one of the most widely studied synthetic neuropeptides in academic and biomedical literature. It has attracted considerable scientific interest across multiple research disciplines including neuropharmacology and cognitive neuroscience.

Supplied as: Lyophilised powder — requires reconstitution with bacteriostatic water prior to use.
